Abyssinia's regime that is being led by the racist bunches of criminal gangs of minority Tigray People's Liberation Front (TPLF) held their party's annual conference in Sidamaland's capital, Awassa from 15-16th of September 2008. Meles Zenawi's regime rulers believe that the Sidamaland is their safe-heaven as they have confiscated the weapons the Sidamas possessed since early 1990s. Their explicit and implicit actions for doing so is to confirm Sidamas complete subservience to their obdurate rules by using few dozens of pariahs from the Sidama cadres who have been handpicked by Meles's regime to serve their colonial purposes by stifling the Sidamas God-given rights.
The minds of handpicked egocentric Sidama cadres who live for their daily bread at the expense of others' sufferings need to be liberated from the century old inferiority that is resulted from subjugation, intimidation, harassments, torture, imprisonments and depersonalisation. They need to be extricated and exorcised from their satanic desires that they have learnt from their colonial masters to be rich at the expense of deliberately incapacitated citizens on whom Meles's Abyssinian regime is committing cultural and religious genocides.
The regime also has got other cadres with aforementioned capacities and attitudes from over 44 various Southern Ethiopia nations and nationalities whose identities are being obliterated to be replaced by the sense of insecurity in the cemetery of nations for nothing; but to be exploited and continue to be depersonalised in their own soils to make them to lead the lives of ignorance and abject poverty.
Southern Ethiopians remain Prime Victims like Oromos and Ogadenians!
Southern Ethiopian nations and nationalities remain prime victims of successive Abyssinian regimes hideous plots against their socio-cultural and politico-economic lives to tame them for eternal subjugation, by totally depriving them of God-given rights while expropriating their resources.
This is also the case with other colonised nations of their empire such as Oromos, Ogaden Somali, Afar, Gambella and..... numerous to mention. These nations with distinct identities share similar fates and receive racist and immoral depersonalisation from the century old Amhara/Tigray colonisers while the world is keeping silent. The world leaders ally themselves with Abyssinian successive regimes for their vested interests including the current Meles's alliance with George W. Bush's government. EU in general and the UK government in particular support Meles's regime by pouring generous aid packages most of which being used for the political purposes to increase the sufferings of Sidama, Oromo, Ogaden Somali, Afar and others subjugated nations of the empire despite all chilling evidences on Meles's regimes human rights records which is one of Africa's worst human rights abuses. This also has been repeatedly reported by the HRW and AI as well as other humanitarian organisations although the real actions remain hypocritically double standard!
The purpose of their meeting is an annual general meeting (AGM) for TPLF/ EPRDF's party that runs pseudo-democratic federal government. The theme of their meeting is about re-baptising and re-appointing regional rulers including 15 executives (most of who have been over 7 years on power) to help the regime to grip onto power in the south Abyssinian empire. The rest one was about usual mantra on unseen and highly exaggerated economic development their regime is enjoying and other false promises that help them to hoodwink their subjects in the occupied Sidamaland as well as other colonised nations' lands whose peoples are impoverished by the policies of repression, suppressions, subjugation, brutality, massacre, genocide and tortures.
An eye witness from the occupied Sidamaland told this writer about the meeting they held as follows;
'I was totally obfuscated and very frustrated when I was hearing what they were talking about the highly exaggerated economic achievements and remarkable all round developments that the regime is enjoying since their time on power. Yet, he added, they failed to mention even single time that over half of the population that is starving to death without single meal a day. The reporter also said that Meles's regime is making a mockery of democracy and joking at the lives of innocent civilians who continue to be slaughtered by its security forces on daily bases without security, and those who receive torture and brutal treatments from their security forces. He said that the empire remains the darkest place for the Sidama as well as for other subjugated nations as long as Abyssinians are on colonial power'. He adds that the only solution remains getting rid of them with whatsoever means.
Meles also has been observed boasting about his regime's human rights records irrespective of his being accused of crimes against humanity committed against the Ogaden Somali peoples since June 12, 2008 in addition to other heinous crimes his regime commits against entire subjugated nations of the country including the Sidama nation since early 1991; during his key note address speech and discussion times.
Not only Meles's regime alone responsible for the difficulty the Sidama nation is suffering from, but also all his predecessors used the Sidamaland as their main centre for exploiting Southern Ethiopian nation's raw materials and other resources. They also use the region as a main ground for torturing innocent citizens of the occupied Sidamaland as well as others-to repeat their racist ancestors' brutality.
The so called pseudo-Sidama representative, a handpicked president of the southern regional government 'Shiferaw Shigute', also has been re-baptized to be re-named the president of this region's Meles's state sponsored criminals apparatus that terrorize empires citizens. Mr. Shigute (who is a half Sidama and half Wolayita) has emphatically rejected the nomination of the Sidamas to be part of the southern regional states 15 executive committee- by emphasizing that he is more than enough for over 5.2 million populated Sidama nation's regional pseudo representation.
Paradoxically, four
executive committee members were nominated from less than 2 million Wolayita (Shigute's
uncles) nation. H/Mariam Desalegne, a Wolayita national, who is one of the main
architects in dismantling Sidamas socio-cultural and politico-economical lives
is the man behind Mr Shiguite's games against the interest of the Sidama nation.
Such blatantly criminal action is both illegal and inhuman acts against the
Sidama nation on whose soil they are making their living. The Sidamas are out of
business games in their soils-by being obliged to leave all businesses for the
Tigreans, Amharas, Gurage's and Wolayitas. That is why Mr. Desalegne and Dr
Kassu Ilala always plot to evict Sidamas from their lands and capital city with
all possible means since 1998.
Since Mr Shiferaw Shigute has been handpicked by Meles Zenawi, Dr Kassu Ilala
and his Wolayita cousin (H/Mariam Desalegne, former southern Ethiopian pseudo
regional president) who is assigned by Meles's federal political apparatus to
mastermind all injustices inflicted on Sidama nation, Mr Shigute has demoted
several dozens of Sidamas from their posts at all levels. He never has been the
case for the promotion of the Sidamas, instead he has been and is the root cause
or agent for the demotion, massacre, humiliation, harassment, detention, and
eviction of the Sidama from their lands and city under the pretexts of expanding
the city of Awassa for the benefit of colonizers and their sympathizers.
Therefore, Mr. Shigute remains one of the Sidama enemies who should be charged
by the international criminal court with his federal criminals.
Famine in Sidama and the Responses of TPLF's regime!
Meles's regime is deliberately inflicting utter sufferings on Sidama people to incapacitate their potential of resistance that might endanger their power in their southern Ethiopia Empire. The appointment of Mr Shigute by eliminating others Sidama nominal cadres is clearly to facilitate effective socio-cultural genocide against the Sidamas by introducing man-made famine and human misery in the land once called ever-green, with the dearest cash crop (coffee) that fetches several millions of dollars for Abyssinian empire every year. Hundreds of Sidamas are perishing on daily bases due to the famine without any representation. International medias are not allowed to the hard hit areas. Very little aid that reaches the region purely serves political purposes and enriches immoral cadres from region to the clusters of villages. No hopes for the Sidama nation's futurity as long as the colonizers are in Sidama land! The Sidama are stretching its hands for justice and truth to reign!!
